The Children’s Zoo (Lill-Skansen) has long been a favourite among children. Here, young visitors can explore animals and nature all year round – play, learn, and meet both domestic and wild small animals.

Animals at Lill-Skansen
At Lill-Skansen you’ll find our smallest animals — rabbits, guinea pigs and mice, but also snakes, birds and stick insects! In summer, we open the paddock where you can get close to the sheep and even give them a gentle pat.

Play areas and theatre
Outdoors, you’ll find play areas like Rabbit Hill and the Snake Slide, and indoors children can crawl and explore in the play tunnels. In summer, the whole family can enjoy Lill-Skansen’s popular theatre performances.

A beloved tradition – give your pacifier to the cats
Time to give up the pacifier? Children can leave it with the cats in their special “pacifier machine” and receive a lovely diploma to celebrate this milestone.

Does your child love animals? Children aged 4–10 can join a zookeeper for Lill-Skansen’s morning routines before the park opens, with an accompanying adult. Together, you’ll help prepare the animals’ homes, change their water and add fresh bedding. Along the way, you’ll learn more about what animals need and how keepers know they’re doing well. The experience is tailored to the children’s ages and prior knowledge, making it a fun and educational activity to enjoy together.
