  • When is Skansen open?

    Skansen is open all year round. See exact opening hours here.

Tickets, annual passes, prices and gift vouchers

  • How much does a ticket to Skansen cost?

    You always get the best price when you buy your ticket online. Ticket prices vary depending on the season. See current prices and buy your ticket here.

  • Do I need to book a ticket in advance?

    For best price, it is recommended to purchase your day ticket in advance. Tickets can also be purchased at the entrances, but at a higher price.

    Children aged 0–15 have free admission but must always book a free ticket before their visit, even when accompanied by an annual pass holder.

    If you have an annual pass, you do not need to book a ticket in advance.

    For certain events, such as concerts, tickets are sold by the organiser. Admission to Skansen is then included in the event ticket.

  • I have purchased an annual pass, what happens next?

    When you purchase an annual pass, it will be sent to you by email (for online purchases) or by SMS (if purchase at the entrance). The annual pass is digital and must be activated before use.

  • Do children need a ticket?

    Children aged 0–15 have free admission to Skansen but must book a free ticket before their visit. Book your ticket here.

  • Is there a student discount?

    Yes, Skansen offers a student discount. Please present a valid student ID at the entrance.

  • Does the student discount apply if I study outside of Sweden?

    Yes, the student discount applies regardless of where you study. Please present a valid student ID at the entrance.

  • Do you offer a disability pension discount?

    You are entitled to the senior admission rate upon presentation of valid documentation showing at least 50% disability pension (sickness compensation).

    When purchasing an annual pass, valid documentation showing at least 50% disability pension (sickness compensation) must be presented. The certificate must be valid for at least six consecutive months from today’s date.

  • How do I purchase a gift voucher?

    You can purchase gift vouchers for annual passes and one day tickets here.

    The gift voucher is delivered digitally and can be given right away.

  • Do you accept cash?

    Skansen’s entrances and shops are cashless, as are most market vendors. However, a small number of partners on site may accept cash

  • Is admission to the Skansen Aquarium included in the entry ticket?

    No, admission to the Skansen Aquarium is not included. Tickets are purchased separately on site at the aquarium, in addition to the Skansen entry ticket.

  • Are both the Baltic Sea Science Centre and Lill-Skansen (children's zoo) included?

    Yes, both the Baltic Sea Science Centre and Lill-Skansen are included in the entry ticket.

  • Can children visit Skansen on their own?

    Children aged 0–13 must be accompanied by an adult. From the age of 14, it is permitted to visit Skansen independently. However, children aged 14–15 are recommended to visit together with an adult for a safe and enjoyable experience.

    Please note that specific age restrictions may apply for concerts and evening events.

  • Where do I purchase tickets to the Galejan fairground?

    Tickets are available on site at the fairground. You can choose between single tickets and ticket booklets. Read more about Galejan’s fairground here.

  • Where do I purchase tickets for Allsång på Skansen?

    Tickets for Allsång at Skansen are released ahead of each season, and seated tickets are sold via Ticketmaster. Standing places are always available and are included with Skansen’s annual pass as well as with regular day ticket.

Food and drink at Skansen

  • Is there anywhere I can heat up my packed lunch?

    You can heat up your packed lunch in the microwaves located in Skogens hus. This is an indoor seating area where you can sit and eat your own food.

  • What cafés and restaurants are there at Skansen?

    Information about Skansen’s restaurants, cafés and other places to eat can be found here.

    Whether you are in the mood for coffee and cake or light meals and traditional Swedish dishes, there’s something for everyone.

Schools and groups

  • What are the rules for preschools, schools and after-school clubs?

    Preschools, schools and after-school groups are welcome to visit Skansen and explore on their own. Visits must be booked in advance, as places are limited.

  • Are there group dicounts available?

    Yes, Skansen offers group discounts. To qualify, the group must consist of at least 10 paying adults, and the tickets must be purchased at the same time by one person.

    Tickets can be purchased at the entrance or via a tour operator.

Accessibility

  • I am a carer, what evidence do I need to prove?

    Carers are admitted free of charge upon presentation of valid certification.

    Please note that free admission for carers is valid only when accompanying a guest.

  • Are there lockers available?

    Lockers are available at the main entrance in three different sizes:

    Small: 30 × 51 × 60 cm
    Medium: 45 × 51 × 60 cm
    Large: 60 × 51 × 60 cm

    Payment is made via QR code or by tapping your payment card.

  • Where can I find toilets and baby changing facilities?

    All toilets at Skansen are equipped with baby changing facilities.

  • Is there a wheelchair accessible entrance at Skansen?

    Yes, Skansen has several wheelchair-accessible entrances.

    Main Entrance
    Has a small lift that can accommodate wheelchairs and strollers.

    Sollidsporten
    Accessible by special transport services and taxis for drop-off and pick-up. Please note that, for safety reasons, vehicles cannot drive all the way to Sollidenplan.

    Hazeliusporten
    Open during parts of the year and features a funicular railway that can transport wheelchairs and strollers up the Skansen hill. Read more about Skansen’s funicular and its opening hours here.

  • Can I borrow a wheelchair?

    A limited number of wheelchairs are available at the main entrance on a first-come, first-served basis.
    A deposit of 200 SEK is required (card payment only) and is refunded when the wheelchair is returned in good condition. The wheelchair must be returned the same day, no later than closing time.

  • Can I hire a pushchair?

    Yes, pushchairs are available for hire at the main entrance for 75 SEK.

  • How do I get to Skansen?

    How do I get to Skansen?
    Skansen is located on Djurgården in Stockholm and can be reached in several ways:

    Tram: Line 7 from T-Centralen to Skansen
    Bus: Line 67 from Odenplan to Skansen
    Ferry: Djurgården ferry (line 82) from Slussen to Allmänna gränd (approximately a 5-minute walk)
    On foot: Approximately a 40-minute walk from central Stockholm

  • Is there parking available at Skansen?

    Unfortunately, there is no parking at Skansen.

    The nearest parking areas are located by the Vasa Museum, Bellmansro (near Rosendal), Strandvägen or Narvavägen.
    Bus parking is available near Junibacken at Galärvarvet.

  • Are bicycles and scooters available?

    Bicycles, scooters, skateboards and roller skates are not permitted within Skansen.

General questions

  • Are there barbecue areas at Skansen?

    Barbecue areas are available at the Bollnäs square (Bollnästorget) and are lit daily throughout the year, provided there is no fire ban in place. Bringing your own barbecue is not permitted.

     

  • Can I leave and re-enter Skansen on the same day?

    Yes, it is possible to leave and re-enter the park on the same day. Speak to a member of staff at the entrance to receive a stamp for re-entry.

  • Can I bring my dog to Skansen?

    Pets are not allowed at Skansen.

    Exceptions apply to assistance dogs, which are subject to specific rules. The dog must wear a service vest and must not have direct contact with Skansen’s animals. Assistance dogs are therefore not allowed in Lill-Skansen or the Skansen Aquarium.

    Before the visit, the handler must sign a declaration confirming that the dog is vaccinated and free from symptoms of infectious disease. The form is available at the entrances.

  • What happens if it rains?

    Skansen is an outdoor venue, and events take place regardless of the weather. If an event needs to be cancelled, this will be communicated on the website.

  • Is smoking allowed?

    Smoking is only permitted in designated areas.

  • Are fireworks and lanterns allowed?

    Fireworks and sky lanterns are not permitted within the Skansen area.

  • Lost and found

    Have you lost something at Skansen? The lost property office is located at the main entrance.
    You can also contact hittegods@skansen.se. Please describe the item as clearly as possible and state where and when it was lost.

    If you do not have access to an email, you are welcome to call +46 (0)8 442 82 09 on weekdays between 13:00 and 14:00.
