Outdoor and indoor picnic areas

Bring your own packed lunch and enjoy a picnic at Skansen. Choose from indoor picnic areas or beautiful outdoor spots with tables and benches throughout the park. The map at the bottom of this page shows all picnic areas and indoor picnic areas.

  • Indoor picnic areas

    At the Forest House, you can heat up your packed lunch using one of the two microwave ovens available. You can also enjoy your meal in one of our greenhouses; however, seating is limited and there are no facilities for heating food. There is also a microwave in the restroom building at Bollnästorget where you can heat baby food.

    Outdoor picnic areas

    If you prefer to eat your packed lunch outdoors, tables and benches are available at Offerholmen, Balderslunden and Torslunden, behind Ekshäradsgården. During the summer, there are even more options – spread out a blanket on the grass or take a seat on a bench and enjoy the beautiful surroundings.

    Barbeques

    The barbecues are lit daily throughout the year, unless the fire risk is too high or a fire ban is in force. Guests may not bring their own barbecues.
