Taking Root the fifth floral exhibition to be presented at Skogaholm Manor, continuing the tradition of inviting contemporary florists to interpret the historic interiors through flowers, plants and natural materials.
Much of the plant material comes from Swedish and local growers in Skåne. The seasonal availability of flowers and plants therefore becomes an integral part of the exhibition, allowing nature’s own conditions to shape its expression.
About Sofie Danielsson-Söhr
Sofie Danielsson-Söhr is a florist and floral artist whose work exists at the intersection of floral craftsmanship, art and spatial installation. Inspired by the history and character of each location, she creates immersive environments where plant materials tell stories, evoke emotion and offer new ways of experiencing a place.
She was crowned Swedish Champion in Floral Design in 2016 and has represented Sweden in several international championships, achieving a best result of seventh place in the world. She has also been awarded a silver medal at the Singapore Garden Festival and a bronze medal at the WorldSkills Competition in Japan.
Over the years, she has created floral designs for major events and ceremonial occasions, trained florists throughout Sweden and contributed to the floral decorations for the wedding of Crown Princess Victoria.
Today, she runs the company Boju in Ängelholm and regularly appears on Swedish television.
About Skogaholm Manor
Skogaholm Manor was originally built in the province of Närke in the late 17th century and was relocated to Skansen in the 1930s. Today, it illustrates what a grand Swedish manor house could have looked like in the late 18th century, with period interiors, collections and stories from the era.
