Together with Skansen’s sheet metalworkers, you can try some of the techniques used in the trade, such as bending, cutting and shaping sheet metal. Get to know the material and discover how it is worked into everything from building details to everyday objects. You may also get the chance to make a simple item to take home.

No advance booking is required – just drop in when it suits you. During the activity, you can learn more about the sheet metalworker’s trade, the tools and the techniques used both in the past and today.

Skansen’s sheet metal workshop is furnished as a workshop from the 1920s, when most of the work was still done by hand. Here you can see how sheet metalworkers worked in the past and discover a craft that still plays an important role in the construction, maintenance and repair of buildings.
