Legends, Folk Songs and Traditional Music at Bollnäs Cottage

Step into Bollnäs Cottage and experience a summer filled with music, storytelling and Swedish folk traditions. Each day, one of Skansen’s folk musicians, singers or storytellers presents a programme inspired by Sweden’s rich cultural heritage.

  • In Bollnäs Cottage, music, stories and folklore come together. Take a seat and let the day’s programme take you on a journey through Sweden’s folk traditions.

    During the summer, you can experience one of the following programmes (varies from day to day):

    Legends

    Discover the magical beings and tales of Swedish folklore as Skansen’s storytellers bring old legends to life.

    Folk Songs

    Join in the singing or simply listen as Skansen’s folk singers perform traditional songs from different regions of Sweden.

    Traditional Folk Music

    Enjoy live performances of traditional Swedish folk music by Skansen’s folk musicians.

    Location: Bollnässtugan

    When: Daily from 1 July to 9 August, 11:00–13:00 and 14:00–16:00

    Today’s programme: Folktales, folk songs or folk music. The programme varies from day to day.

    Admission: Included with standard Skansen admission and annual passes.
