    Experience our beloved and historical Christmas market, dating back to 1903. Buy everything from handicrafts and design to sweets, home-made candles and secret Christmas gifts.

    Wednesday–Sunday, 21 November–21 December

    Combine your visit to the Christmas Market with Skansen’s Christmas Feast. A festive meal that reflects Sweden in miniature – rooted in cultural history and created from the finest ingredients of the farm, the forest and the sea.

    Learn exciting facts about nature or meet an animal that live at the Children's zoo (Lill-Skansen). Welcome every day from December 1 to Christmas Eve!

  • Skogaholm Manor Courtyard, 13 December at 16.00

    Experience an atmospheric open-air Lucia concert with the Stockholm University Choir. The concert lasts about 25 minutes.

  • Seglora Church, 13–14 December

    Enjoy a traditional Swedish Lucia concert in the beautiful and atmospheric Seglora Church.

  • Temperence Hall, 13–14 December

    Step into the Temperence hall and experience what a Lucia celebration in the 1920s could look and sound like.

    Bundle up and sing along when Pernilla Wahlgren and the orchestra lead a festive Christmas "allsång" together with guest artists!

    Here, children of all ages can enjoy wonderful Christmas spirit, play and crafts on Saturdays and Sundays during the Christmas market weekends. And who knows – maybe Santa Claus himself will be there?

    Two of Sweden’s most powerful voices join forces in what may be this winter’s most exciting musical encounter during two concerts in Seglora Church.

    On Christmas Eve Skansen is open for a shorter period with a few open houses, shops and some activities for you to enjoy.

  • 31 December

    Welcome the new year with a stunning view over Stockholm as your back drop. Our New Year's celebration dates back to the 1890s and is experienced by the Solliden stage and via live broadcast on Swedish television, SVT.

    Enjoy the enchanting atmosphere in Seglora Church as the quartet Frispel performs two concerts leading up to midnight. Experience fiery Baroque music, folk hymns, Nordic melancholy, and medieval ballads performed on 30 different instruments.
