Baltic Sea Day

The last Thursday of August we celebrate the Baltic Sea Day at our Baltic Sea Science Center. Discover and learn more about our nearest sea and the importance of healthy seas.

Baltic Sea Science Center celebrates Baltic Sea Day on the 27th of August together with Stockholm Vatten och Avfall.

Dive into the Baltic Sea you didn't know existed. In Baltic Sea Science Center our guides hold open tours of the house. Come below the surface and discover the unique animals and plant life that live in our nearest sea.

You can also experience a new unique model of the water cycle outside the Baltic Sea Science Center. Follow the water's winding path through Stockholm, up among the clouds, through pipes, into homes and out into the Baltic Sea and see how we take care of the water in our part of the great cycle.

Stockholm Vatten och Avfall (Stockholm Water and Waste) is on site and informs about their work.

In the evening at 18:00 everyone can show their appreciation for our fantastic sea by jumping into the Baltic Sea. Take a photo of your jump and share it with us on social media under the hashtags #doppet and #BalticSeaScienceCentre.
