The Bollnäs House is a building that belonged to a farm in Hälsingland.
It was common for the large farms in northern Sweden to have a special building that was used for large gatherings on special occasions during the year. The building was also used when the local priest came to check on whether people had learnt their catechism as well as for infant baptisms and for laying out the dead.
The Bollnäs House originally consisted of two 17th century buildings that were joined together in the middle of the 18th century. In 1786 the local painter Jonas Hertman decorated the walls and ceiling with Biblical motifs.
