Swedenborg’s Summerhouse

The summerhouse comes from the estate in Stockholm that the famous philoso¬pher and scientist Emanuel Swedenborg (1688–1772) purchased and lived in from 1743. Swedenborg used the summerhouse that was moved to Skansen in 1896 as a place of retreat and for spiritual exercises. The summerhouse contains furniture from Swedenborg’sown time as well as a small organ that belonged to him.
