Educational tours

There are two guided tours available if you plan to visit Skansen as a group from an educational institution - "This is Skansen and what is Skansen" and "Sweden´s wild animals at Skansen".

This is Sweden and what is Skansen

Skansen is the world´s first and oldest open air museum founded in 1891. During this walk you will stroll not only through our wonderful park but also travel the route of historic Sweden, from farmsteads to 18th century mansions meeting characters in period costume. A quick visit to some see some of the Nordic animals will end our walk. After that you are free to wander about at your own leisure.

Visits should be booked at least 3 weeks in advance. The fee is 750 SEK per school and 60 SEK per pupil.

Meet Sweden's wild animals at Skansen

Indoors at Lill-Skansen we will take a closer look at fur and antlers and meet smaller creatures such as snakes and rodents, while outdoors we encounter everything from seals and elk to the mythical wolf.

Lessons are adjusted to circumstances on the day, which means that the activities may sometimes differ slightly. If you have any specific requests, we will do our best to accommodate them. The aim of the lesson is to provide an introduction to the wild animals of Sweden for both old and young or perhaps those new to Sweden.

Visits should be booked at least 3 weeks in advance. The fee is 750 SEK per school and 60 SEK per pupil.
