Christmas market anno 1903 – open during weekends: 26–27 Nov, 3-4, 10-11 and 17-18 December. Open between 10-16.
At Skansen we have celebrated Christmas at our farms and other buldings since 1891. The Christmas Market is piled high with candy‚ traditional foods‚ jams and marmalades with warming "glögg" to drink. And there ar handicrafts‚ and much else besides for the perfect gift for family and friends. You can also learn how to brew at home.
But the best thing about Skansen's Christmas Market is that it is so much more than just a market.
Come and get a taste of what Christmas was like in earlier times in our buildings and farms and enjoy listening to our gifted fiddlers. Take time out from the busy market at a seasonal concert in Seglora Church. Learn to nake traditional Christmas decorations at the Forestry Centre or join the ring-dance round the tree. Our animals - both the Scandinavian animals in open-air locations and the small animals in the children's zoo - are waiting for you to greet them.
You can catch up with our choir at various venues at Skansen. Why not stop and enjoy the rich repertoire of Christmas music. And there are all sorts of interesting "characters" in striking costumes just waiting to entertain you and help you on your way.
Welcom to a splendid market and a memorable Christmas here at Skansen.
